There are three new member orientation sessions for anyone interested in joining Culver Presbyterian Church. We cover traditional beliefs, ministry opportunities, congregational structure, and what makes Presbyterians unique. If someone has not been baptized previously, we will provide additional information about Christian belief and the importance of baptism.
At the last session new members meet Council members to get to know them and hear about the ministries of the church.
At a Sunday service the new members reaffirm their baptismal vows and are introduced to the congregation. Anyone who hasn’t been baptized will be baptized at that time.
Membership in a church congregation is a choice to have two feet firmly planted in the life of a community. Everyone has a part to play in the life of a congregation, so the expectation is for all members to be in the boat and rowing. This means being a part of the Sunday worship life, volunteering, and supporting the ministry of the church through our financial giving.
