Worship will be moving to online only starting this Sunday.
Council voted unanimously to discontinue in-person worship for the month of March. This Sunday, March 15th, we will stream worship online here on our Facebook page at 10:30 am. We hope to have other opportunities to connect virtually and over the phone in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned for that.
These are very uncertain times as the news and situation changes almost hourly. When the waves seem to keep crashing over us, we have a firm hope to stand on. Through wars, plagues and captivity, God’s people have sung our praise with every ounce of strength we have.
And we will continue to sing.
We will be making phone calls on Sunday morning as a part of our virtual gathering. If you would like a phone call please email Pastor Frances.
We are also taking this opportunity to reconnect with one another in ways that our busy lives might prevent us from doing ordinarily. Let us reach out, make a phone call, send cards, and check on people we know who are feeling vulnerable.
As of Friday, March 13th there is one confirmed case of Covid-19 in a Culver City Resident. Please maintain distance from people as much as you can, wash your hands and stay healthy.
If you are home and need anything, please reach out. Do not put yourself at risk, if someone else can easily come to you. There are so many ways for us to be connected when we are apart. Know you are never alone.
We are in this together and will get through this together.
We are the Church together.
Thus says the Lord—
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
when through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched
and flame will not burn you.
I am the Lord your God,
the holy one of Israel, your savior.
In case you missed it, Pastor Frances has some reflections on the current situation to share.
While we may not gather in person, our support of God’s work can continue. See the Donate link on our webpage to continue your generosity.
